In Service

Sightseeing in San Francisco during a summer storm in parched California, I caught this image of the Cable Car "end of line" on one of the last runs of the night. Still in service despite earthquakes, antiquated technology, crazy hills and slick cobblestone, the cable cars continue to delight people from all over the world. I see the silent figures of this scenery as story-collectors. The trees, posts and light poles here near Union Square must have witnessed so many interesting moments over the years. But my favorite part of the painting? The orange traffic cone and its stellar shadow, believe it or not.

This original oil painting on canvas measures 40 in. high x 30 in. wide. The canvas is 1.5 in. deep, and the edges are painted black. All of my original paintings are signed on the back. Your painting will arrive wired and ready to hang as-is, or you can add a frame later. I recommend
